02-Feb-2006 -- KM 4592: OTRA EN LA RUTA 40

02-Feb-2006 -- KM 4592: ANOTHER ON THE ROUTE 40
This is the sixth visit of the chain that we’ve visited during our Holidays 2006; previous visit was 48°S 71°W .
This confluence wasn’t in our plans, because after having refilled gasoline in Bajo Caracoles and visiting the “Cueva de las Manos”, we would go to the west to the Andes Mountains and then we’d arrive to the town of Los Antiguos by the provincial route 41, following the limit with Chile from the south to the north. However, as we didn’t get gasoline in Bajo Caracoles, we had to go directly to the north to the small city of Perito Moreno, thinking about each drop of gasoline inside of our fuel tank.

So, we passed near the confluence 47°S 71°W, located on the Lago Buenos Aires plateau, in an area of difficult access close of the Puntiagudo Mount and then we registered it as an incomplete visit. We did it from a balcony of the Rio Ecker´s Valley, on the route 40 where we took the pictures.

Our trip continued during the Day 13th where without planning it, we went to sleep to Los Antiguos.

The next confluence of the chain was 47°S 72°W , on the provincial route 41, but in Chile.
