10-Jul-2005 --

This visit was planned as the second object during our weekend two days trip.

First object - great and very beautiful natural formation on the North of Ukraine - Ovruchskiy kryazh (range).

Saturday early in the morning we came from Kiev to Korosten by electric train and then moved about 175 kilometers by bicycles through Ovruchskiy kryazh.

On Sunday (second day) we came to confluence point and have reached it at 13:23 local time. Total trip distance which we overcome in Sunday was about 60 kilometers. Than we arrived in Korosten and went to Kiev by electric train.

  Notes
Attention: In December 1989 the area around the Confluence had a radioactive surface contamination from Caesium-137 of 185-555 kBq/m², the half-life of Cs-137 being 30 years. Even higher contamination values (above 1480 kBq/m²) can be found to the Northeast of the Confluence. Thus approach should be done coming from the South, the time of stay in this area should be kept as short as possible, and appropriate measures should be taken by the visitors to protect themselves against any radioactive contamination.
