#1: General view

(visited by Helmut Resch, Babs Coleman and Matthew Oparaocha)

21-Apr-2005 -- It was Thursday and the `Id al-Mawlid festival. There was no prior plan for this holiday so we set off in the morning to a casual drive to visit confluence 10N 8E, which had been visited by a friend of mine a year ago.

We went from Abuja to the Usuma dam where we enjoyed the spectacular view from the top of a rock. From there we went on backroads to Bwari and continued on some newly made roads to the national highway towards Kaduna. At Jere, we turned off and drove via Kagarko to Dagwarga and Kachia. At Kachia we took the road to Kaduna, around 20 km outside we found the Confluence about 150 m off the road.

After we completed all necessities we returned back to Abuja but this time we took the route through Keffi. At Keffi we stopped at our favourite bushbar and had a couple of cold beers to celebrate our successful visit to confluence 10N 8E.
