10-Feb-2005 -- We left Antofagasta de la Sierra, in the seventh day of our expedition in Argentina, bound for San Antonio de los Cobres. We Crossed the Salar del Hombre Muerto - an abandoned salt bed with about 550 square kilometers and, approximately 40 km to the north, we found this confluence that is very easy to reach, therefore it is about 300 meters of the road in a desert valley.
We left the road and went to the point for the required pictures. This was our first confluence out of Brazil. After the accomplished ritual we kept on our trip.
From there the convoy proceeded for a stop under the viaduct La Polvorilla, over which passes the called "Trem das Nuvens" (The Train of the Clouds). We spent the night in San Antonio de los Cobres, a small mining city 3900 meters over the sea level, after a round of wine and music beside the fireplace. Mirian once again cheered us with her voice.
