#1: Nisidhes Khristiana seen from the Confluence

(visited by Captain Peter and Leon Leprozo)

15-Jan-2005 -- Over night we entered the South Aegean Sea. The confluence 36N 25E is located 17.3 nautical miles (32 km) SW of a small group of islets, namely Nisídhes Khristianá. This tiny archipelago consists of three islands:

Nisís Khristianí, which is inhabited and attains an elevation of 285 metres, Vrachonisís Askánia, and a small rocky islet, named Nisís Eskháti, but this latter one was not visible today in rather misty air.

The Confluence happened to be passed exactly at breakfast time. Chief Officer Leon just gets his breakfast on the navigation bridge, served by Herbert, our Mess boy from the Philippines.
