#1: Confluence point

(visited by John Dag Hutchison and Trond Hansen)

04-Jul-2007 -- Having visited N71/E24 on Rolvsøy I continued to Tufjord, just 3 km to the west where I met a local fisherman, Trond Hansen who in addition to his regular, sturdy fishing vessels had an 8 meter leisure boat with a speed of more than 20 knots. The distance from Tufjord to the confluence point is about 32 km. So it was possible to go and still catch the catamaran from Gunnarnes to Havøysund in the afternoon.

The sea was relatively calm: The sun was warming, but that also resulted in a rather limited visibility with regard to taking the required photos. At the actual point, it also turned out to be difficult taking the photos due to the waves. The mountains at Tufjord in the east and Sørøya in the south were visible, but turned out to be not so clear on the photos.

Back on the catamaran I found that the "whole population" of the island knew about this strange fellow who had such an extraordinary hobby. Two people asked me if I had reached the point I was aiming at....
