#1: Looking South

(visited by Richard Smith, Kwasi Brobbe and Peter Lovett)

19-May-2004 -- I only heard about confluence points the day before this visit. I happened to be visiting the Afram Plains District of the Eastern Region of Ghana for work and looked at a map to see 7N 0 was in the District.

An initial attempt to locate the point on the day of arrival was unsuccessful due to failing light. The next day with a very early start (we had work to do as well), we made it after only a short walk in the bush and were back in the district capital for breakfast.

The team consisted of myself, Kwasi Brobbe (civil engineer designing roads with me), and Dr Peter Lovett (Environmental Consultant preparing a baseline report on the area for me).
