#1: looking north

(visited by Stefan)

26-Aug-2012 -- The third visit of this day on a flight from way up north back to Yellowknife after finishing a job.

Not much changed from the last visit at 66N112W except that this is now NT rather than NU.

The confluence is almost exactly halfway between a line from Wekweètì (a Tlicho community) to Lupin (a gold mine). Both these places have winter road access, but not in common, so this confluence is still over 100km from a human structure. This distance is doable on a snowmobile in the winter if anyone cared. Because the terrain seems to be rather gentle up and down and water is the opposite of an obstacle in the winter.

Vegetation is still very close to the ground, no trees or bushes higher than half a meter. Lichen and moss as well as berries. Autumn makes for beautifully colored scenery and flying through this painting in sunny weather for hours is one of the highlights of my life and I'd think anyone's.

Next visit is 64N114W

Prior visit is 66N112W
