15-Mar-2010 – The confluence point is situated in Surgut district of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region in 40 km from Surgut town in southeast direction. Asomkiny village is located in 4.7 km from the confluence. This is a territory of Fainskiy oil field. The terrain in this area is forested, marshy plain. There are spruces, cedars, birches around.

By truck KAMAZ we have driven onto an oil field road up to a multiple well platform. The well platform is situated in 500 meters from the confluence point (by the straight line). We have passed our way in the northeast direction through the forest waist-deep in snow. The forest is as thick as the GPS signal was lost several times. We had to go into the loggers track, where the GPS signal was more stable. That's a reason why we had to take picture of GPS in 40 meters from the confluence point on the loggers track. It took 1.5 hours to go 700 meters through the snowy forest, while retrace our steps onto well-worn trench took only 30 minutes.
