14-May-2012 – Our moving to a new borehole was started. There was about 5 km to 60°N 111°E confluence point from our location. Since we had plenty of time we decided to take a stroll to get there. Here, May is a fast transition from winter to spring. It still was snow in some places; brooks did not completely thaw out. Bunches of puddles and dense underwood used to interfere our way to go straightly to the confluence point. That is why we had to go along contours. As soon as we could turn off the contour we continued to follow azimuth. On our way we have encountered several bogs which we had to pass round as well as three brooks of 10 m wide. In one spot Alexander Petrov, who was ahead of our “pilgrimage”, had to get wet since the branch that had been chosen for crossing did not withstand. I, personally, had to seek the other way, i.e. the other branch to cross the brook.

Finally we got the confluence spot. While I made the record of our location, Alexander was wringing out his belongings and drying them under sun. It was really nice that it was warm and sunny. The way home seemed to us much easier. Not far from that place we founded the old cross-country road that led us to contour going to our borehole.
