10-Sep-2016 -- For the long time I had a dream to unseal some confluence point. My first attempt was to get to the confluence 53°N 87°E. That adventure had finished by 12 km long hike for the tractor ;) I'll be back there later, I only choose more dry weather!

Having looked at the map, I chose the next confluence in Mountain Altai. Potentially this CP looked quite accessible, and there was one incomplete attempt to visit it. And this gave me the idea that it is necessary to go there.

This autumn was dry and I hoped there will not any problems to reach CP. However, I did not find any fresh information (in Internet) about road conditions in those places. There were very heavy rains in 2014 and many bridges in the Altai were destroyed, so I took a winch and 50 m of kevlar rope with me. Looking ahead I need to say that none of this was required, and the road was in a good condition. Local people easily drove there by 'Zhiguli' for cedar's cones.

I set off from Novokuznetsk city at 1 pm and by 7 pm I stopped for the overnight stay in 3 km from the confluence. On the morning I departed to Sadrinskoye lake. The path to the lake shore took 45 minutes on the trail (2.9 km). After that I rented a boat, and rowed to the southern shore of the lake, having caught perch trolling on the way. At 10:45 I arrived to the point of confluence, where I made photo shots of terrain around me.

The confluence point is located on the shore, in a few feet from the water. There are willow bushes around, while a pleasant view opens only in the direction of the lake. Here is a small video from the CP.

CP visit data:

  • Mileage total: 370 km
  • Spent time: 22 hours
  • Time to point: 10.45 (local)
  • Height: 768 m
  • Weather: clear, +20°C.
