#1: Panorama S-W-N

(visited by Franz Mittermayr and Andi)

25-Feb-2018 -- On a sunny Sunday we started in the morning from Regina, Saskatchewan. Finding our way to the southeast wasn't so easy because some roads were closed. About one hour driving brought us more and more closer to the target coordinates. Finally we ended up in middle of fields full of snow. Almost on the 50th latitude we stopped driving on a small road. No problem to find a parking lot because we were the only people as far as the eye could see. That was one of the moments were we realized that we didn't see any car since half an hour.

After preparing the GPS device I started walking along the latitude and keeping an eye on the longitude value. It was quite easy to reach the confluence point. No wind, -12° Celsius and sunshine wasn't too bad. After taking the pictures towards north, east, south and west and a panorama photo I enjoyed the impressions of the middle of nowhere.

To be honest, that point seems not to be the most interesting one of Canada but I don't regret the visit. I start more and more thinking about a friend's comment as he questioned me: "Is visiting confluence points a kind of a religion?" Who knows?
