09-Aug-2013 – We had a good night's sleep after yesterday's almost all-day forced march to 50°N 90°E in our camp on Buguzun river (50°03'22''N 89°14'11''E). By noon we headed back to Kokorya village to visit the museum of Chuya valley telengits. When we drove along Buguzun we were accompanied by cranes. In the village we could reach museum director by a phone and finally visited the museum. We were impressed how all the worthy representatives of this mountainous Altay small nation are cherished. The museum exhibits some photographs from famous Ukok Plateau as well.

Well, and then we moved into the surrounding mountains to the confluence 50°N 89°E, located 9 km due north. First, it was necessary to reach right Buguzun riverbank and it was not an easy deal, since the bridge washed away recently. However, there was a number of fords suitable for our cars.

There was some dirt field road headed approximately to the CP. Under conditions of non-steep treeless mountains, this road looked easy passable. It runs about a kilometer from the CP. However Valera has been here, so he didn't stop in the nearest place and drove down the road, then turned left neatly and slowly climbed uphill off any road. Apparently, he remembered well how one can drive in here, because he did not even look at the navigator. He got his bearing guided by grazing camels, and watched attentively to avoid large stones collision. And here we are at the confluence point! There are smooth mountains around, the typical terrain of Chuya Valley environment. Altitude is 2375 masl, and it is located very close to the top of 2500 m.

As soon as we got out of the cars and started to photograph confluence views some clouds came flying and the rain has begun. What was to be done? We reluctantly concealed ourselves in the cars and drove down photographing the camels running in the rain. But suddenly our eyes opened awesome rainbow, it was right in front of us, straight our descending course and below us. Then we really could not resist, left our cars and started to photograph this beauty. And as soon as we went down below, both the rain stopped and the sun shone and we had a snack. Well, and after that we headed to Ukok plateau.

The most amazing thing is that this confluence has been visited 2 days later, and the visitors saw the traces of our cars.
