02-Aug-2020 -- This the first of 14 CP visits made during a road trip through the Czech republic and Germany.
The next is N50 E14.
After a hiatus of 3 years my son Michael and I finally managed to organise a road trip
to visit Prague and Berlin and to visit as many confluence points along the way. This would
depend on the weather and the difficulty of the terrain to be covered. It turned out that none
of the CPs we visited were difficult, in fact mostly fairly easy. For the journey between the
CPs we would be using Michael's new car which would make the driving more comfortable and where
allowed a little quicker than the old Mazda 2 used in the past.
We left Franking, north of Salzburg at 9:00 and simply followed the navi instructions to the
CP in the Czech republic. A vignette was purchased at the Czech border (11.48 Euros for 10 days)
and we arrived at the CP about 12:40. The distance to the CP was only about 50 metres.
We were surprised that there was a monument at the CP; this would not be the last marker of some
sort at the CPs we would visit.
We took the necessary photos and headed off to the next CP.
