(visited by Ross Finlayson)

25-May-2016 -- I ended my tour of ‘forgotten’ 119-Degree-West Degree Confluence points with a visit to this point - just south of the US-Canada border. Mine was the fourth recorded visit to this point, but the first in almost 14 years.

Driving east from Oroville, WA on country roads, I passed through the small town of Chesaw, and then continued on gravel and dirt forest roads, until I was blocked by a gate at 48.98439°N 118.99651°W, 1.1 miles (as the crow flies) from the point. At this point I parked and continued on foot - at first along the road, and then ‘bushwhacking’ through the forest.

About 0.3 miles from the point, the terrain dropped sharply into a gully with a small creek (fortunately, easy to cross) at the bottom. On the other side, I left the forest and continued up a steep grassy hill, scattered with lupins. I then reentered the forest, 400 feet from the point. The point lies within about 30 feet from the clearing (with a barbed-wire fence) marking the US-Canada border.
