ESPAÑOL

04-Aug-2018 -- Taking advantage of the good days of the long and hot summer, my brother Gunter Bostelmann and I decided to navigate in our inflatable boat on the lake of Neuchâtel, so we focused into visiting the confluence 47N 7E near to the north coast of the lake.

On Saturday, August 4, we drove by car to Neuchâtel. Already in January 2015 we had made an approach to the lake to observe the location of the confluence and look for possible places where to throw the boat into the water.

We parked the car quite close to the coast and a few minutes later we already had the boat inflated in the water. We rowed about 20 minutes until we reached the confluence. The water currents, the slight waves and some wind made it difficult for us to achieve a course to reach the exact place and register the confluence. It took us about ten minutes to get the zeros on the GPS display. Then we spent another 20 minutes refreshing ourselves, resting and taking pictures of the area.

The trip back took us almost the same time as the trip to the confluence. By the time we arrived to the coast, the weather was changing from sunny to cloudy and a few minutes after we were driving back home, it started to rain.

The northern part of the lake of Neuchatel is a residential area with many houses and some buildings of few floors. To access the banks of the lake there are hardly any public roads where you can walk to the shore. Getting where to park in this area is an art.
