English narrative

31-Jul-2004 -- During the period from July 30 until August 18, I realized, at last, to the full my long-nurtured project of an automobile race from Asia to Europe, having gone by automobile from Novosibirsk on the Black Sea coast of Caucasus on the route: Novosibirsk – Omsk – Kurgan – Chelyabinsk – Ufa – Kazan – Cheboksary – Nizhni Novgorod – Vladimir – Moscow – Voronezh – Rostov-na-Donu – Timashevsk – Taman – Anapa – Novorossisk – Gelendzhik – Tuapse – Krymsk – Moscow. I left Novosibirsk by automobile on July 30 and in the evening on August 1 I arrived in Moscow, having visited on the road 7 points, 3 of which have remained uncompleted in view of the shortage of time. From Moscow we went the rest of the way already as a whole family.

The point 46N039E was located in a sunflower field. The time of harvesting approached, and the sunflowers were full ripe with sunflower seeds, therefore their ripened inflorescences have been lowered and overhung from two-meter height, being closed above our heads, almost completely blocking the sky. The stalks and leaves of sunflowers remind one, to the touch, of an emery paper, and, shaken by our advance, the fruits could quite replace a boxing pear for weight, and at a careless movement could give a decent punch. Therefore it was necessary to go very cautiously. Nevertheless, this point was conquered and is written down in our track record!

Success to all!
