23-Apr-2005 -- We, the "Explorateurs du Nord", went to Shawinigan to visit a friend. In her company, we took advantage of the occasion to visit a point of confluence which is situated in that neighborhood. Saturday morning on april 23, 2005, on a rainy and windy day, we headed in the direction of Sorel to get to the 46ºN - 73ºW point.

Along the highway we had the chance to admire a flock of white geese in the field and as we got to our destination, we asked a nice lady for permission to get onto the land, because the point was in the center of the field. She mentioned that the field was not her's but belonged to a man name Latraverse, whom we made sure to thank at the end of our visit. We were approximately 700 meters (0.44 mile) from our goal. We walked through the field, in mud and water since it has been continuously raining. The temperature was approximately 4º C (39º F) and as we were walking trough the field our boots were getting heavier and quite big due to the mud that keept sticking to them, but nothing could stop the "Explorateurs du nord". Finally we got to the point of confluence at 12:15 pm.

We took a few sips of "caribou" as it is our tradition and in spite of the rain and the wind, the group was quite happy. We had lived another beautiful adventure and all in good company.
