(visited by Gavin Roy)

11-Nov-2019 -- This was my first of five confluences in 24 hours in Western Nebraska. I traveled east from Fort Collins, Colorado on I-80, which was in good condition despite the two inches of fresh snow and extremely cold temps this Monday morning of Veterans’ Day. After visiting the marker at the exact NE corner of Colorado (see photo) I made my way down progressively worse farm roads culminating in a one-lane, exceptionally hilly dirt road (West 10) that passes a few hundred meters north of the confluence. I turned south onto a two-track dirt road that was unmarked except for a paper sign, “Hunting by Walking Only” (the main deer-hunting season in Nebraska starts in a few days). I parked here, which put me within 500 feet of the confluence. It was an easy walk across a frozen field of harvested stalks. Back in the car on my way north toward Brule, Nebraska I had to pull over onto a side farm lane to allow the passage of four massive southbound combines which spanned the entire width of the two-lane dirt road and its shoulders.

Parked: 11:08am

Temp: 13°F

Back in car: 11:18am

Next confluence: 41°N,101°W
