05-Dec-2020 -- Every confluence hunter who respects himself takes advantage of any trip to visit at least one confluence along the way. My wife and I have been living in Central Florida for almost 2 years, Orlando and our youngest son is assigned to Fort Campbell in Kentucky. We decided to spend together Christmas holidays and prepared the trip by driving about 850 miles. According to the GPS navigator this would be a journey of about 11 hours non-stop.

We left the house a little late at 7am we took the north turnpike and then Interstate 75 north. Once in Atlanta area, we take Interstate 85 north, then go to Highway 316 East up to to Buford Dr direction NE. Afterwards, turn left on Russell Rd and left again on Glendale Dr until we reach the house where the confluence is located and I parked my car in front of the house.

I get out of the car with my GPS and camera in my hands, and in that moment I see that an older gentleman who was in his exercises jogging down the street came to me. He comes up to me and asks me with a big smile on his face, are you looking for the geographical point?. I can't contain my laugh and I said yes. He is the owner of the house and took me to the exact spot where a previous visitor had been. It was all incredibly very easy, the track practically all the time interstate and the owner of the house very friendly. We reach the point at 3:53 pm being the temperature well low at about 37°F.

While I took the required photos by doing a short dance of the confluence to achieve the zeros in the GPS, the owner of the house entered it and soon came out and told me that he will continue with his exercises and continued to jog down the street.

Ready my first confluence in Georgia. We got in the car and after warming up a little bit, we continued our journey and found a lot of traffic on the road around Atlanta (it was rush hour time). We finished arriving at our son's house at 11pm somewhat tired but very happy for the family reunion.

Christmas confluence hunting continues at 37°N 88°W.
