#1: Top of ravine over confluence point

(visited by Mark J. Lampton)

08-Apr-2001 -- I approached this confluence from the north. This may have been a mistake. The Topo shows some type of road that passes close to 34°N 88°W. When I arrived at Mountain View Road, a gate awaited me (Picture #2). I then went across the street and asked Mrs. Mary Seales if she could tell me how I might gain access to the road. She was the start of a chain of events that would succeed in gaining access through the first gate. Through Mrs. Dot Cantrell, I was soon to see Mr. Gerald Busha. I was now past the first gate. At the second gate, a walk of about a mile & ¼ (one way) now await me. There is yet a third gate to pass through. The road runs a ridge top on some privat land used for hunting deer. Some clearing is taking place, but is helpful for getting right up to the top of the small ravine that the confluence point is located in (Picture #1, #3 & #4). This confluence may be possibly reached from the South via Military Road, but I was unable to check for any other gates from the south.
