02-Oct-2010 -- This is the begin of a confluence point hunting trip (3 points).

Three of my colleagues and I decided to hunt for Confluences in Morocco. Why? In Europe there are no unvisited Confluences and one of my colleagues is Moroccan. On Thursday we left from Delft to Gouda to eat a pizza at a pizza service shop. Moustapha came at 19:00. We almost caught a cold because of the open door, which had to be open, otherwise people might think the pizza services shop was closed. After eating the pizzas we drove to Weeze, and missing an exit at the highway we continued on a small touristic route and saw Nijmegen by night. Arriving at the hotel in the middle of the centre of the peaceful town of Weeze, we stayed for the night.

In the morning our flight to Fès left at 10:00 a.m. Directly after takeoff, two youngsters began to smoke in the toilet. They were taken by the police in Fès, which delayed our trip for at least 30 minutes. It did not do any harm to our time schedule. In Fès we hired a Renault Mégane. The car had been used only once and we were the lucky ones to use it the second time. First we drove to the nearest shop to change money and buy water. The owner of a little restaurant, who turned out to speak Dutch, changed our Euros to Dirhams. We had a little lunch at his restaurant. After lunch we headed to Missour. The countryside was enormous and we were amazed when we saw the wide views. At the hotel “Baroudi” in Missour we met seven Belgian people from Hasselt. They stayed in Missour to teach women aerobics and taekwondo. The Belgian people hoped to achieve that the women in Missour will do more sport. Furthermore Belgian doctors where teaching Moroccan doctors the Belgian way how to act in an ambulance. At the hotel we explained why on earth we came to Missour. Some people were quite amazed and some people began to tell us how to get to the point. An old man wanted to explain the best way to go but a young man said the old man was just talking too much. If we had listened to the old man we would have reached the CP in a more convenient way but less adventurous. Dinner was served on 7:30 p.m., so we had some time to walk in the city. There we enjoyed a little wedding ceremony. Girls were making music and sang loudly. The dinner was fine and we decided to go to sleep early.

Next morning we had a Moroccan breakfast and went to the confluence point. The evening before we had done some test driving to find the best way to go. We had found out the best way but that way was not allowed to go due to construction work. We asked around and the local people said it was no problem to use the road. We passed some houses and could reach a house on a small hill near the river. There we parked the car and walked to the confluence point. It was less than one kilometre.

On our way back we drank a glass of fresh cow milk, which a farmer gave to us. He and his wife were very friendly and asked us to stay for dinner and we even could sleep in their house. Unfortunately we could not stay because we planned to visit our second point during this day. They gave us a little tour in the house and we were welcome to take some pictures. He liked to get the pictures and asked us to send them to him.

Next point is 33N 5W.
