English Narrative

English Narrative

05-Apr-2023 -- We started at the hotel in Dimapur. About 24km from our destination we turned from the main road. We crossed train tracks and a river. We made a big turn 20km from the CP and the road conditions degraded significantly. We came to a road construction site after another 10 km and were allowed to drive on a new road, steeply uphill into the mountains. In a turn we parked our car and walked the last 633m. We followed a wide path for about 150m and then turned onto an excavator track. This turned into a narrow path in which steps were chopped. We strayed significantly from our target and turned around. We got to another path and had to go back again. We had to descend into the valley and followed a path. The last 28m we had to fight our way into the bush. It went steeply downhill to a dried-up creek and then steeply uphill again. In the middle of a thicket we found the Confluence point we were looking for. We were the first visitors and happily made our way back.
