#1: Flooded paddy field view

(visited by Moshiur Khandaker)

28-Dec-2013 -- Confluence 23N 91E is located in one of the flooded paddy fields of the village Shivpur about 7 km northeast of the small town of Chandragonj beside the Chandragonj to Chatkhil road in southeastern Lakshmīpur District in Bangladesh. The landscape is flooded paddy field.

Bangladesh Adventure Club's confluence mission's members to this southern Confluence in Bangladesh were Moshiur R Khandaker and Nur Mohammad with local farmer Kaikobad.

The confluence point is in Lakshmīpur district which is around 170 km south of Dhaka city. Two of us started on 27 December 2013 at 11 am by bus from Pātharghāta to Bhola. The journey was of approximately 7 hours and we reached the destination at around 6 pm in the evening and stayed at Bhola District town.

Next morning at 10:00 am we started for Lakshmīpur by crossing Bangladesh's widest Meghna River channel (about 30 km) by engine boat. After four and a half hour we reached Moju Chowdhury boat landing station because of fog. We traveled by CNG auto rickshaw up to Chandragonj. Exactly at 4:05 pm we reached the confluence of 23N 91E. The point was found to be in one of the flooded paddy fields and we had to walk down a bit to find the degree confluence of 23N 91E with a GPS accuracy of 15 ft.

It was a wonderful confluence experience. Eventually we made our successful 2nd confluence point visit.
