08-Mar-2005 -- Continued from 21N 53E.

After Andy had lead the convoy until sunset, the following morning we broke the camp site to finally reach to Ḥibak dunes. Soon the height of the sand dunes got a new quality. The flat salty areas in between are called Sabkha.

After we got to the peak of the Ḥibak dune by a 40 minutes' walk, Andy and Frieder brought the cars up. In the third try, Andy was able to cross the dune with his Nissan to measure the height from the top to the bottom by means of the GPS: 225 m.

Next morning, we left the area of sand mountains and sabkha and got back to the well-known dune lines. We had to cross a lot of those to get to the last Confluence on this trip, 21N 52E. It was then Frieder's turn to lead us out towards Ḥaraḍ and back to Riyāḍ.
