11-Jun-2008 -- This is the 28th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January at 11N 5E.

Story continues from 14N 16W.

We have been staying with Thierry and Emmanuelle at Dakar for a couple of days. Both of them made us exceptionally welcome, thanks again for this wonderful time. It was nice to spend some time in civilisation again. One of our highlights at Dakar were the finals of the national motocross championship where we met a lot of interesting people. Both their children participated in the championship and Robin was the winner of the junior championship 2008.

After leaving Dakar our first stop was at "Lac Rose", the end point of the legendary Dakar rally. From there we were heading north towards Noto Gouye Diame. Outside the town, a few hundred meters from the road is the confluence 15N 17W. We managed to drive with our 4x4 directly to the Confluence. After making all the necessary documentation, we continued our journey up north to the next Confluence.

Continued at 16N 16W.
