12-May-2008 -- This is the 26th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January at 11N 5E.

Story continues from 13N 15W.

We have been staying at the beach at Cap Skiring for a few days and now it is time to leave this nice place. We are heading towards Ziguinchor. At Ziguinchor we take the N4 in the direction of Dakar. After the village Silinki there is a small turnoff (12°57.886'N 15°58.299'W). This path is leading to the village Bambatuma, through the village and as close as 600 meters to the Confluence.

It was an easy walk to the Confluence. On the way back we stopped at the village Bambatuma for a short chat and continued our journey. To quench our thirst we opened a bottle of beer only to find out that the beer was off and the next one as well. The last beer we opened was okay and tasted exceptionally well.

Continued at 14N 16W.
