29-Sep-2007 -- We had left the confluence 12N 9E and drove along the road towards Keffin-Hausa. The driving required a lot of concentration since my brakes were not working properly as the seals in the master cylinder were leaking.

About 8 km after Keffin-Hausa we turned off into the marsh land towards Bulangu. However, we were lucky because it had stopped raining three weeks ago and it was fairly dry. Before we reached Bulangu, we turned off again and followed a road which terminated a couple of kilometers further on. At this stage we where approximately five kilometres from the Confluence.

We tried to find a way through the fields and the marsh land but got stuck in the mud and sand. We tried several routes and had to turn around because the path ended in some field or in a village. At one point we thought we were never going to make it to the Confluence, alas, we eventually found a path leading us very close to the Confluence.

The remaining 250 meters we had an easy walk through the fields. We did not spend much time at the Confluence as it was midday and very hot. We quickly made the necessary documentation and carried on towards the next virgin confluence 13N 10E.
