  33°S 146°E (visit #2)

#1: The confluence point lies within a native bush reserve, next to a railway line. (This is also a view to the West.)

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

26-Jan-2021 -- This was definitely a forgotten Degree Confluence Point, as it had been visited just once before, more than 19 years ago! And because the previous visit was so long ago, and because Google Earth imagery of the point happens to be quite low resolution, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I approached the point. It turned out, however, that David Thompson’s description from December 2001 was still accurate, and in fact perfectly matched how I ended up visiting the point.

From Kidman Way (highway B87), I turned eastwards onto the railway frontage road at [-32.99044,145.90083], 9.3 km from the point. This (dirt) frontage road was easy to drive in my rental SUV. The frontage road passed 450m South of the point; I parked and hiked from there. The whole area was filled with native bush, but with enough clear areas to make the hike to/from the point quite easy.

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
