(visited by Kobus de la Porte and Renier Binneman)

11-Mar-2006 -- During a recent visit to Sossusvlei I decided to return to Cape Town along the less traveled and beautiful eastern Kalahari region of Namibia. I have previously noted a confluence point relative close to the C29 road north west of the small town of Aranos.

The turn off towards Renier and Marie Binneman's farm Awadoab was almost opposite where the C20 crosses the 24S.

Renier was immediately intrigued with the possibilty of a confluence point on his farm. The point was 1.2 km east from the farmhouse on the eastern bank of the Nossob River. There were no tracks towards the point but that was not a problem for Renier and his trusted Nissan Hardbody pick-up truck. We drove cross-country along the dry Nossob riverbed and up several rocky dunes right up to the confluence point.
