(visited by Brian Roberts, Renate Roberts and August Klaasen)

18-Apr-2023 -- Continued from 25S 19E.

We visited this confluence on 18 April 2023 on our return from visiting the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. We camped overnight at the Jansen guest farm where we discovered that the farm Panama, which was just over the road, now had new owners, Mina and Paul Isaac. Mrs Jansen kindly phoned them and they agreed to meet us. Once we had explained the purpose of our visit they were happy to give us permission.

We drove along the fence which ran parallel to the road until we were about 2 km from the confluence. Not wanting to drive off-road on the farm we decided to walk. When we were 600 meters from the confluence we reached a fence. Disappointed, we returned to our vehicle as the sun was setting. That evening I phoned Mina who agreed we could try again the following day.

Next morning we started off before sunrise and met August Klaasen who unlocked the gate for us. He accompanied us and agreed that we could drive off-road. This proved difficult as there were a lot of thorn bushes and we were driving directly east into the rising sun. After 3 km we again reached the fence and now with the help of August we were able to climb through and walk the last 600 meters to the confluence, reaching it at 07h53.

Our thanks to Mina, Paul and August for their assistance in making this visit possible.
