17-Jul-2010 --

17-Jul -2010 --

This is my second visit in only one day. The first was 21S48W.

I completed the first visit of the day in Pontal city, in São Paulo state, in the morning, and went ahead. I caught SP-322 highway and followed up to Bebedouro city. Then, I turned right and went up to Barretos city, where I had lunch. Both highways are double and are in excellent conditions.

After passing by Barretos city, the road turns single and go up to Frutal, in Minas Gerais state, crossing interstate border. Again, the interstate border is in Grande River. In this leg, the river is wider, due to Marimbondo and Porto Colômbia dams nearby.

Arriving in Frutal, I went ahead up to confluence point. I followed up to BR-153 highway and turned left. Some kilometers after, I was 2.9km close to the exact point, where dirt road leg begins.

I turned left and followed a good conditions dirt road, up to a gate. This gate was cited by the previous visitor, Eduardo Hanazaki. Eduardo is the greatest confluence hunter of Brazil. This was our second “meeting” in confluence hunting. In other occasion, his narrative helps me when I was visiting 20S43W.

According to the previous visitor’s narrative, when he made his visit, the gate was locked. In my visit, in the other hand, the gate was unlocked and I crossed it without any problem, arriving in the edge of pasture where the point lies. I stopped the car 196 meters close to the exact point and hiked up to get all GPS zeroes.

After visiting the point, I went back to Uberaba city in order by deliver the rented car and meet my son, at my brother’s home. I was very tired due to 18 hours trip, half by bus and half by car. In the following day, we went by bus to Uberlândia city and went by plane to Belo Horizonte city.
