18-Mar-2011 --

On March 4the we left Ayacucho for a 4 week road trip to the north of Peru and the south of Ecuador and cruise the famous “ ruta del sol” that starts form Guayaquil along the equatorial coast. This trip is more of a trial road trip for our longer voyage we are preparing that will take us from the same Ayacucho to Ushuaia and back to Ayacucho crossing the Brazilian rainforest. Planned to start in 6 months from now before, we go back to our beloved Granada in Spain to start a B&B. You can follow us on Our Blog

As we started the trip, I put some proximity alarms in my GPS to alert us the presence of a confluence point at a 10k distance. On March 18th at 12h30 the first alarm made us aware of the confluence S2W80 at only 2 km from the road. Without any doubt we started to turn in some farm roads and found a nice parking spot in the middle of some rice fields at 1,5 km from our goal. The view was amazing and an ideal spot for bird watching. After crossing a small river up to our knees in the mud and wadding through an unused rice field full of reptiles we shouted victory at 13h30.
