(visited by David Olsen and James Olsen)

09-Jun-2005 -- The Wiso "road" from Lajamanu to Tennent Creek is almost impassable. My father and I travelled this track for 2 1/2 days, travelling just 495km in that time. The majority of the 2 1/2 days was spent travelling just 295 km.

The track is badly overgrown and no longer used. Nobody had been through here for at least one year and it showed. The "road" which is excavated lower than the surrounding desert by a grader is, in the wet times, a river. The resulting moisture causes wattle to grow so thick as to render the track almost impassable.

Due to the risk of flat tyres and the drama we had travelling this track, in an extremely remote area, with little hope of retrieval, we elected to stay on the "road" rather than drive or even walk to the confluence.

The closest we got was 1 minute of latitude which is approximately 1.8 km.
