#1: View from the confluence looking south-west

(visited by Rod Kevill and Sandra Kevill)

24-Sep-2006 -- After a rather non-restful sleep at Roebuck Roadhouse, Sandy and I headed off south down the Great Northern Highway to Roebuck Plains. We had previously been given permission to use the station tracks.

We turned off the main highway onto a station track, then followed the Roebuck Plains south boundary fence, heading east, then north, then east again, and finally arriving some 54 km later at the south east corner of the property. The boundary fence tracks had been graded, but were somewhat overgrown, with the occasional fallen burnt tree blocking the track.

A short walk in of about 1 km brought us to the confluence. A recent bushfire had left the ground blackened and ash covered.

After the usual photos of the confluence, we walked back to the vehicle, and proceeded back to the highway via a different track further north through salt lake country.
