#1: Looking west towards the confluence, which is by the anthill.

(visited by Merv French and Gerard Sermon)

24-Aug-2004 -- We were on a trip from Western Australia to Cape York in far north Queensland and it was my intention to visit a confluence at some stage of the trip. As most of the easily accessible confluences have been done even in remote areas I was surprised to see that this one was close to a track. After convincing three others in the party of eight that walking around the bush looking for something that you can't see is fun,we set off.

We arrived late in the afternoon (note: the time on the GPS is Western Standard Time), drove down the track to the nearest point and then made the walk of about 1.5km to the site. We made sure we were at the right spot with two GPS readings,I took the pictures and we departed back up the road to camp and have a drink or two to celebrate, and try and convince the others that it was worth it.
