English version

Deutsch

English version

13-Oct-2009 -- We reached this last free confluence point in the sand area of Erg Awbāriy from west over some chains of dunes. The wide valleys between let us drive through quickly, so we made the 100 km in less than one day.

Dunes in this area have a maximum high of 125 meters, that is a lot for Erg Awbāriy; the chains to cross are not higher than about 50 m high. After the visit we soon started cruising SSW along the chains because we were on the way to the heart of the Erg Murzuq, which we later passed from 25°40'N 13°00'E to 25°10'N 12°10'E.

Please give me response whether the marker stick is still standing there. Look also at my points in the deep south of Libya (24N 20E), which will soon be added.
