(visited by Hermann Grebner)

27-Jul-2003 -- German narrative Back in Sweden, after my little north-Finland round-trip, I decided spontaneously to visit a point that had already been visited twice, with a succesful trip made by Wolfgang Vogel/Silke Heilig and later an attempt by Terje Mathisen.

So I started on my way towards Trondheim. From there I travelled on the E6 towards Steinkjer. Subsequently from there onto street # 762 toward Gaustad. About 1,3 km after passing the 12th longtitude there is a small gravel-track turning to the left. After another 300 meters there is the possibility to park one´s car close to a small bridge.

An untouched landscape, basaltrocks in the river and plenty of forest land are there for your amazement. „This isn´t going to be easy“ I thought to myself, although I wasn´t far from the point of intersection. My starting point was N 63° 58.465 - E 12° 01.600. This meant scarcely 3 kilometers to hike towards northwest.

I started on a sunday at 7.30 p.m. At first I moved along the gravel-track for about 300 meters, following a sign with the inscription „Klovstien“, because it was in my direction anyway. This little path in the wilderness ended after about 1 km close to a waterfall.

From there on the track led me to the north. What a difficult ground to hike: Thick bushes and woodland! Tresses-plants and rocks covered with moss in all sizes. In betweeen them, again and again droppings of sheep and elks.

I went about 150 meters steep uphill, hilltop for about 50 meters and then about 150 meters steep downhill. Valley-dip for about 50 meters and then the same old game. Three or four times, I went up and then downhill again. You have to be extremly careful where to step, so your feet don´t get hurt. It took me almoust 2 hours for only 2 kilometers!

I finally reached my goal, which was situated in a small depression at 285 m altitude, at 9.45 a.m. At first I needed a complete change of clothes. I´m not sure why I was so throughly covered in sweat. Was it the effort it took or the fear? Probably both when you´re out and about like this by yourself. Maybe I just walked too fast. After an extended intersection-documentary break I had to hike the same way back!

I reached my starting point again at about 1 p.m.. I needed another change of clothes and lots of beverages along with as many mineral- and vitamin pills as I could take.

What a Sunday morning!!

Es geht ca. 100 - 150 Meter steil bergauf , Bergkuppe ca. - 50 Meter; dann wieder rund 100 Meter steil bergab ; Talsenke ca. 50 Meter, dann wieder dasselbe. 3 - 4 mal so.
