Alkaen 67°N - 28°E ajelen ensin pohjoiseen Savukoskelle.

Todennäköisenä tavoitteena on pidentää tämän reitin käyttöikää. Tänään on toinen vierailu tähän geopisteeseen yli 20 vuoteen. Jatkamme kohti Utzjokea.

Starting from 67°N - 28°E I first drive north towards Savukoski. From here we continue on the still preserved road 967 to Hihnavaara. From here you only drive at 30 - 40 km/h, on the 9671 a longer route of up to 70 km, on this dust-dry, deep sandy road until just before Tulppio. Shortly before that, turn left and another 25 km to Kemihaara. This is also my starting position to this point at N 67° 57.7513 – E 028° 57.2861. Today on a warm Sunday evening it will be another national park geotour, like some time ago at 24° East on the same line of latitude. I find a parking lot at the southern entrance to the Urho Kekkonen National Park, which is the second largest national park in northeastern Finland at 2,550 square kilometers and extends all the way to the Russian border. I set off north on this beautiful Sunday evening at 6:20 p.m. and still have 4.6 km to this geodestination. You first go over a small bridge on a hiking path for around 1 km through open forest, then over a second smaller bridge to a longer swamp area covered with wooden planks for around 2 km. Coincidentally, this hiking trail goes in the same direction as the point position to be reached, with a deviation of a few 100 meters.

Some parts of this wooden plank path are currently being replaced by metal grid segments. With the likely aim of increasing the useful life of this route. I now discover a gate in front of me that is blocked off with bars. Parts of this national park are also used as a deer breeding area. The wooden bars are easy to move, allowing the gate to be opened and closed again. Still walking north in an open forest area, I reach latitude 68. Here I save my position in the GPS device with MOB. From here it is now around 365 meters in a due east direction to the intersection. I find this geopoint after a total of 80 minutes of walking with an almost perfect position at 273 meters above sea level in a sparse, open forest with tall trees. Today is the 2nd visit to this geopoint in over 20 years. The location of Matti's GPS device in his picture number 10 on the mushroom in its easterly direction, which was placed on Matti, Maria, & Jyrki's first visit in May 2003, is also with me in the same direction but now lying on the ground, with the white circle marked. After the photos and another enjoyable hike back, I reached my car again after around 1.5 hours. We continue towards Utzjoki.
