There is a memorable day, this trip to west of China, according to popular saying, is: "Avoid misery". Last night we watched the Olympic opening ceremony on TV at the "Death Valley". We came to Tibet for the purpose of supporting the tourism industry in Tibet ,. As you know, after the the "314" event the tourism industry of Tibet were suffered a lot. In fact, we felt much safer on the way here.
Yesterday evening we finally arrived at the famous "Dead Valley", Stayed in a small Muslim family inn , there we were watching the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games at same time enjoyed a simple noodle dinner. The hostess of the inn is a devout Muslim, when we watched the opening ceremony she went to another house to pray. It was very meaningful to celebrate the OlympicGames in this "Death Valley". Although we left Beijing, here is almost the farthest place away from Beijing, well, we were watching the Games with the local people and the truck drivers we just met at this small inn. Sounds like everybody in China cares about Olympics.
Today we started early to reach this point, since we entered Xinjiang area the weather changed a lot, it was quite different from Tibet, much colder. At this point we took some photos.
