17-Jul-2002 -- While on a trip to China I had the opportunity to almost make it to this confluence point.
We were on our way from Xining, Qinghai provience to Golmud. Highway 109, which runs all of the way from Beijing to Lahasa, Tibet, comes within about 2.5 kilometers of the confluence point.
If there had been more time, and if the weather had not been so wet, we would have tried to make it to the point. From what I could see it would have been all hiking to get there. Also, I'm not sure if the point is on the near side of the mountain in the picture, or just on the other side of it. Kilometer marker 2434 is about the closest point. Darn. :)
