08-Jul-2006 --I visited this point after the point 46N 122W during a bike trip around Portland. I went in this area initially to enjoy the landscape around the mount Hood, and, of course, to visit a confluence point! After one day to go from Hood river to little crater lake, I spent a good night in one of the campgrounds around Timothy lake. My neighbours showed me how to make "roasted marshmallow": I had never seen it before! In the morning, I wake up very early because it was URGENT for me to reach Portland in the evening: France football team was in final stage of the soccer world cup, and I had to watch this game the day after on the big screen of "pioneer's square" in Portland.

The point is closed to the Clackamass river valley. I used 2 maps: "Mount Hood Wilderness Map" and the "Mount Hood National forest map". From the junction between the roads 46 and 63, I took the little road number 6310 (from the "two river campground"). After a while, a track goes 300 meters from the point. BUT: this 300 meters are very difficult to do. The terrain is very steep, and it is very hard to go throught the vegetation. I reached the point in 30 minutes. The forest around the point was under exploitation: I found some woodcutter tools around. I didn't find the wood mark of the previous visit; it was in 2001: the forest had changed a lot. I was suprised to see that the previous visit had been done on winter; it schould have been difficult to go there in the snow! Congratulation to the courageous of the previous visit!

Then, I went down the Clackamass river, and to Portland at the Northwest Portland International Hostel. The day after, France Soccer team lost against Italy and wasn't world champion, but the main thing was, of course, my successful confluence point ! It was my third point on the 45N parrallel (between north pole and equator) and my second in the United States.
