21-Aug-2001 -- On our trip to Taranto we were looking for a confluence where we could make a rest. This spot seemed to be the most convenient since it supposed to be close to the shoreline of the Adriatic sea. We left the ‘AUTO Strada’ A14 and followed the ‘STRADA STATALE’ Adriatica (SS16) towards Termoli (See picture 2). We crossed the town and finally found an access to the suspected beach.

Close to a camping resort and a nearby road construction site we could found a parking area. We walked up the beach prepared to step into the water according to our maps. Fortunately we got the ZERO reading just on the water edge. Calculating the accuracy and the resolution of the GPS the exact confluence can either be on land or in the water. Due to the hazy weather condition only a few people were around. Some local children enjoyed our visit. We stayed more than one hour and enjoyed the beach, searched for mussels, etc.

While I was working on my submission I realized that Luca Bartolini and Serena Baiocchi visited this confluence on the day after. I am astonished that their reading was ZERO while the accuracy shows 35 m and the spot did not match with mine. I suppose that my confluence plate was splashed away by the mentioned storm. I did not observe any burnt areas.
