#1: Typical view across the pasture

(visited by Rich Carlson)

13-Jan-2001 -- Located off of Waddell lane in the middle of a cattle pasture. Surrounding area of Dry Creek is rocky with mostly scrub mesquite and a few live oaks. Sheep, goat, and cattle ranching is the predominant use of the land in this area with some farming. I also met a guy on an ORV (with beer in hand) using the land for recreation. After locating the confluence and building a small cairn, I photographed the nearby abandoned ranch house and windmill before heading 210 miles NNW for my next confluence attempt.
