#1: General view of the confluence.

(visited by B Treloar and Piggy)

19-Nov-2001 -- The confluence lies approx 27 kms east of Kadina, 7.5 kms NNW of Kulpara and 115 kms NNW of Adelaide.

I had been working up north further that day and thought I would have a quick look at the confluence, whilst travelling back to Adelaide.

I entered the area from the north along Limekiln Road (unsealed)arriving at the intersection of the Ninnes/Paskeville Roads, (bitumen)crossed straight over and continued for another kilometre on Limekiln Road.

Turning left after another kilometre onto another unnamed dirt road heading towards the confluence.

The paddock that the confluence appeared to lie in (although out of general sight because of a small rise in the land), appeared to lie within a property known as Yarrabee Park.

Upon entering and discussing the Confluence project with one of the owners, I was kindly granted permission to proceed further on foot.

And of course in true Geocaching form, went promptly along the longest possible path attainable.

I had promised the owner of the property to try not to damage the crops that looked almost ready to be harvested, and walked in a north westerly direction along a fenceline bordering a paddock.

I had a picture in my mind that the confluence appeared to be 90 degrees off of a part of this fence. This was kind of true, just another paddock or two over yonder.

Hmmpphh, after about 30 minutes of walking almost the entire fenceline of this paddock, I came to a point where another fenceline speared off at almost 90 degrees.(south). I followed this fence line until the GPS pointed 90 degrees to my right again, and indicated 36 metres to the confluence.

This bit was smack bang in the middle of a wheat field (Sorry Mrs Elliot!). In I went, and straight onto the confluence, well, 2 steps right, 1 step back. (and not to forget about 1,274 grass seeds in my socks).

Took the regulation photographs of the Confluence, and headed on out, the shorter way this time.
