#1: The creek that defeated us!

(visited by Bruce Lilley and Joshua Siame)

23-Jan-2005 -- We made a visit to the area south of 15S 29E just to see what it would look like while we were on the way to 15S 30E. The map put this point way out in the bush, far from any road, and it appeared it would be a difficult DC to visit.

Our reconnaissance seemed to confirm this as the road we found generally followed the 29E meridian, but was very bad and headed straight up into some mountains. Whether or not this or any road goes over the mountain is unknown. We quit when we almost got our vehicle stuck in a ditch... the picture doesn't show how deep the ditch is!

For an attempt at a successful visit, we would suggest a high-clearance 4x4, with a local guide for help, and you should devote all day to getting there and back if you leave from Chiyuyu.
