Northampton, Massachusetts, on Elwell Island in the Connecticut River. Difficult and potentially dangerous climb required.
As manager of the Degree Confluence Project, I've been following Geocaching for awhile and have been waiting to place mine. I, (Alex Jarrett) and Eric Apt-Dudfield assembled some stuff, including a disposable camera, log book, CDs, Tiger Balm, Rosewater, a couple of books, the results of a surrealist game and more into a white five-gallon drywall bucket and biked on over to the island. Some hints: you don't need a boat to get to this one (in fact, it's harder to get to if you do), and it's under a very well travelled spot. Some potentially treacherous climbing was involved, so be careful!
